Google 剛宣布了 Google 雲端硬碟服務，您等不及開始上傳檔案了嗎？小心喔，經過統一後的 Google 服務條款跟大家用慣了的 Dropbox 不太一樣。

以下是 Dropbox 的服務條款（他們沒有提供中文版）：

Your Stuff & Your Privacy

By using our Services you provide us with information, files, and folders that you submit to Dropbox (together, “your stuff”). You retain full ownership to your stuff. We don’t claim any ownership to any of it. These Terms do not grant us any rights to your stuff or intellectual property except for the limited rights that are needed to run the Services, as explained below.

We may need your permission to do things you ask us to do with your stuff, for example, hosting your files, or sharing them at your direction. This includes product features visible to you, for example, image thumbnails or document previews. It also includes design choices we make to technically administer our Services, for example, how we redundantly backup data to keep it safe. You give us the permissions we need to do those things solely to provide the Services. This permission also extends to trusted third parties we work with to provide the Services, for example Amazon, which provides our storage space (again, only to provide the Services).

Dropbox 的服務條款大意是說，Dropbox 對於使用者上傳的檔案基本上不具備任何權力，他們只有在「為了提供服務」的前提下，遇到需要製作預覽檔案、備份檔案等情況會使用那些檔案，而這類使用權會延伸到可信任的第三方服務（例如一些會透過 Dropbox 同步、備份的應用程式或網路服務）。

然而 Google 提供的服務條款可就不同了：

您儲存在「服務」中的內容（編按：這裡的「服務」指的是 Google 的各項產品與服務）

部分「服務」可讓您提交內容；您仍保有相關內容中您擁有的智慧財產權。簡而言之，屬於您的依舊是您的。

當您將內容上傳或以其他方式提交至「服務」，即表示您授予 Google (及我們的合作夥伴) 全球通用的授權，可使用、代管、儲存、重製、修改、製作衍生作品 (例如翻譯、改編或變更您的內容，使其更加配合我們的「服務」)、傳播、發佈、公開操作、公開展示與散佈這類內容。您於本項授權授予的權利僅限用於營運、宣傳與改善「服務」，以及開發新的服務。即使您停止使用「服務」，本項授權仍持續具有效力 (例如對您先前加到「Google 地圖」之商家資訊的授權)。部分「服務」可讓您存取與移除先前提交至該「服務」的內容。此外，某些「服務」會有條款或設定縮限我們對提交至該類「服務」之內容的使用範圍。請確認您擁有必要權利，可就您提交至「服務」的任何內容授予我們本項授權。

有沒有覺得當中哪裡怪怪的？

• 我們上傳檔案到 Google 雲端硬碟的同時，也授與了 Google 使用、修改或重製檔案內容的權力。
• 使用者授權給 Google 的使用範圍包括了 Google 的營運與宣傳。
• 即便停止使用該服務後，該授權仍持續具有效力。

相信與多人都會使用 Dropbox 作為資料備份甚至是工作、創作過程中必備的工具，也很可能打算以相同態度來看待、使用 Google 雲端硬碟服務，不過考量到 Google 的服務條款不同於 Dropbox，也許在上傳檔案的選擇上要更加小心才是。
